Some say those things called 'humans' are extinct. Perhaps they are. Maybe it was us, the Pokemon, that caused their extinction. Who knows. Or maybe there never were humans on this small, tiny world. Who knows.
But there is a power, on this island, that our anscestors said was No Such Thing. They would tell us, as children, 'Don't go a lookin' for the No Such Thing, youngun's, or the black dust of Pride will burn your eyes away!', 'Any more quesitions about the No Such Thing and the worst winter we've ever had will come!' They would all try and hide it from us. But everyone knew.
They said that the No Such Thing can turn you into a human.
Why, I don't know. We don't know. But I can imagine how great it must be, so be so tall and strong, with such intelligence, gigantic and powerful, with human hands and human minds and human power to bend everything to your will. Everyone knows, and they all secretly want it.
So when the old leaders finally passed, and the three new Selected Ones took their places, we all had one thought, one passion, drilled into us by the tales of foreboding and danger that we had heard all these years. We were going to search for the No Such Thing.
